Productive

Do you ever feel like some days, you're on top of the world and you can do anything, and other days, you just want to stay in your bed, pull the covers up over your head, and never see the world again because you just know that no matter how much you try to get done that day, you won't have made a dent? Usually, lately, my days are the second type, but I get up anyway. Today however, my day was the first one.

I successfully got Jackie to do 4 sets of 15 minutes and get her room completely clean. Then, the kids and I built towers out of blocks, and they shared and had all sorts of fun. Jackie would build a tower, and Ben would say, "Jackie, I knock over you tower?" And she'd tell him whether or not she was finished. As soon as she was finished, she would gleefully say, OK, Ben, knock it over. Ben would reply. "OK Jackie, I knock it over now." He'd run full speed ahead and kick it. Then, he'd go gather up all the blocks, and beg for her to "build it" again. It was lovely.

We spent three hours at the park on a picnic today, and then we also spent time at my friend Kim's house tonight where the adults played games while the kids did a great job of sharing. They were getting along great. I feel great about today!

Sadly, I totally live that. And, also sadly, this was not one of those days for me. Definitely mouse on the wheel for me. What am I supposed to be doing right now instead of blogging? Finishing a display for my Women's Ministry group at church tomorrow. Almost done, just taking a little break. But it's hard to get enthusiastic about something that has every possibility of being ignored. That, and I'm going to totally bomb on my solo tomorrow. Sigh...

At least you'll have your display done, after awhile, and you'll do a better job on it after you've had a break. Also, on your solo, just remember that in church God helps you. It's been my experience that every time I've sung in church it's sounded tons better than when I practiced. I truly think that God helps more in church. Maybe that's just me though. Let me know how the solo goes!

Ben also helped in the living room, so we got most of our place slicked up on Saturday. We also got all our laundry washed and folded, and all but a few items put away. I thought it was a very productive day. I was very proud of the kids.
